About The Mail-Journal

Deb Patterson
Editor in Chief

The Mail-Journal, our flagship publication, is a hometown weekly newspaper that has garnered numerous awards through the years. The Mail-Journal serves subscribers in the northern half of Kosciusko County, the greater Lake Wawasee area. Staff writers and photographers focus on gathering local news with an accent on community making The Mail-Journal the only true local newspaper.

Our strong, readable publication has also brought us a host of local, state and national awards from such organizations as Hoosier State Press Association, Association of Free Community Papers and Independent Free Papers of America. Among those awards have been numerous first, second and third place honors for news, feature and editorial writing, photography, graphics and special sections. Included in the array of honors were back-to-back prestigious American Legion Auxiliary’s choice for the national Golden Press Award and “America’s Best Local Editorial”.
