2025 Northwest Annexation
Interested persons are hereby notified that on August 19, 2025, the Town Council of the Town of Syracuse will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. local time (EST) at the Syracuse Town Hall, 310 N. Huntington Street, Syracuse, Indiana 46567, concerning a prosed annexation of territory into the Town of Syracuse.
The annexation ordinance upon which the hearing will be held, Ordinance 2025-05, provides for the proposed annexation of approximately 98.75 acres of land generally located northwest of the Town’s current boundaries west of the intersection of County Line Road and Huntington Street (in portions of Kosciusko County and Elkhart County). The proposed annexation ordinance and corresponding fiscal plan, and the legal description and map of the annexation area, are available for inspection by the public during regular business hours at the Syracuse Town Hall, 310 N. Huntington Street, Syracuse, Indiana 46567. The Town reserves the right to amend the annexation area, fiscal plan, and/or ordinance prior to taking final action. The Town is authorized to consider the annexation in accordance with Indiana Code § 36-4-3.
At such hearing, all interested parties will have an opportunity to testify as to the proposed annexation, and the hearing may be adjourned to a later date or dates.
