On June 21, 2024, the Town of Milford applied for a planning grant to use Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA), to develop a COVID-19 Economic Recovery Plan (CERP). The Town was notified on July 15, 2024, by OCRA as a recipient of $50,000 in CDBG funding to develop this plan.
The plan will support and guide the town with a three-pronged approach for supporting the community: empowering local businesses, enhancing the quality of place, and attracting visitors and investment.
With a grant amount of $50,000, the Town of Milford is also contributing a local match of $20,800, bringing the total project cost to $70,800. Approximately 54.3% of the grant funds, or $27,150.00, will be used to benefit low-to-moderate income individuals. Milford used the Qualification Based Selection (QBS) process to select the consultant, USI Consultants, Inc., to conduct the plan.
The Town of Milford will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 7:00 PM EST at the Milford Community Building located at 111 S Main St, Milford, IN 46542. This hearing will provide citizens an opportunity to hear a presentation on the findings and recommendations of the COVID-19 Economic Recovery Plan, and share their comments about the Plan prior to seeking approval by the Town Council.
Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding this project either at the public hearing or submitted to the Town by prior written statement. Accommodations for individuals with disabilities or with limited English proficiency can be requested at the contact information below. This project will result in the displacement of no individuals or businesses. Information concerning the proposed project may be obtained from:
