The Board of Directors of the Turkey Creek Dam and Dike Conservancy District are inviting potential candidates for membership on the Board of Directors of the Conservancy District to file nominating petitions pursuant to I.C. 14-33-5-3. The Directorship positions serving Directorship areas 1 and 5 will be voted upon at the calendar year 2026 annual meeting of the Conservancy District. The Directorship Area 1 is currently held by Incumbent Board Member Todd Mikel and will be voted upon for a full four-year term on the Governing Board. Directorship area 5 is currently vacant due to the absence of a nominating petition having been filed for that position at the calendar year 2025 annual meeting. Three years remain on the unexpired term of the directorship area 5 Board position.
Any candidates for these positions must be freeholders from within the boundaries of the Directorship Area for which they are candidates and must be qualified by knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to the development of the Conservancy District. Candidates need not be petitioners for the establishment of the Conservancy District nor are candidates required to be residents of the area of the district for which membership on the Governing Board is sought.
Nominating petitions may be submitted to the office of the Conservancy District in writing before December 1, 2025. Nominating petitions that are mailed are valid if delivered or postmarked (private postage meter postmarks will not be accepted) before December 1, 2025, if the envelope has sufficient United States Postage and is addressed to the Conservancy District, PO BOX 548, Syracuse, Indiana.
