An Ordinance amending the Town Code of the Town of Syracuse
WHEREAS, the Town of Syracuse has previously adopted its Town Code, and
WHEREAS the Town Council of the Town has determined that it is in the best interests of the Town that said Code be amended, specifically, the previously approved water rate ordinance (Chapter 9, Article 5; Ordinance 2022-13 and Ordinance 2023-05), so as to ensure that persons who are receiving water service from the town who are beyond the town boundaries have fairly contributed to the capital and operating costs of the Syracuse waterworks system.
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED that waterworks service to properties outside the Town of Syracuse shall be charged a 15% surcharge over and above established rates, which surcharge shall be effective March 1, 2026. The surcharge shall apply for customers for all services provided to any parcel of real property not located within the jurisdiction of the town boundaries.
