The Town of Milford is applying for a construction grant funded by the Community Development Block Grant CARES Act (CDBG-CV) program, administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) to replace deficient water meters. The intent of the project is in response to the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure its customers have quality and reliable meters for the Town to accurately bill its customers, and provide information for Water Loss Audits. The Town of Milford will hold its second public hearing on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the Milford Community Building to provide residents an opportunity to hear an update on the project development and grant application.
The Town is seeking to apply for $249,296 of CDBG-CV program funds. The total project cost is estimated at $407,328 to procure the professional contractor to install the new meters and purchase the new water meters. If awarded, approximately 61.7% of the grant award, $153,815.61, will be used to benefit low-to-moderate income individuals on an area wide basis.
The Town of Milford is committing $158,032 from its allocated Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (ARPA) funds as its local match.
Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding the water meters replacement project either at the public hearing or by prior written statement.
